The requirements to activate Starter businesses on Paystack vary by country. Here is a list of the key information you'll be required to provide:

  • Tax identification number
  • Personal bank account number or personal mobile money number
Nigeria
  • A government-issued form of identification
  • Bank Verification Number (BVN)
  • Personal bank account number
South Africa
  • Personal bank account number
  • Settlement bank confirmation letter
  • Valid government-issued identification
Kenya
  • A government-issued form of identification - national ID or valid passport.
  • Personal bank account number or personal mobile money number

Important Note

Another important requirement is that all the information you provide must belong to the same person, i.e. the names across all these requirements must match. If these details do not match, we would not be able to activate your account.

Are all business types allowed?
