3-D Secure is an extra level of security added to reduce fraudulent activities for Card Not Present (CNP) transactions.
One-time password (OTP) is a password that is generated by the bank and valid for a single transaction session, to ensure all payments are authorized by the cardholder.
You are unable to remove 3DS/OTP authentication for transactions as it is a compliance requirement for online transactions. You can find more information on 3-D Secure here.
Why can't I remove 3-D Secure/OTP?
This step has been put in place as required by regulators, to protect customers from unauthorized transactions and to protect your business and Paystack's from losses arising from chargebacks.
What can I do if transactions are failing at the 3DS/OTP authentication step?
If your customer can't go past the 3DS authentication step, kindly advise them to reach out to their bank to enable their card for 3DS transactions.
If they aren't receiving OTPs or the OTP is being sent to a phone number different from their present phone number, kindly advise them to reach out to their bank to have this corrected.
This will allow them to make payments seamlessly on Paystack.
